01one camera, one stranger
A conversation with no audience
Live rooms are fun, but they are a crowd. BuzzCast video chat is the opposite: hit Start match and the system finds another member who is free right now. The call opens on video, it is just the two of you, and nobody else can watch or join. When the chat runs out of steam, one tap brings the next person.
That is the kind of video chat app people hunt for when they are tired of group calls and dating profiles. A real face and voice tell you in seconds whether the chat has legs. No swiping through photos, no waiting days for a reply.
02how a call starts
From button to hello in a few seconds
There are two doors into a one-on-one call, and both take you to the same private screen.
- 01
Random match
Press Start match on any page. The system pairs you with another member who is waiting, usually within seconds.
- 02
Call a host
Inside a live room, tap Start Video Chat to call that host privately. Host calls use coins, shown before you connect.
- 03
Allow your camera
The first time, your browser asks for camera and microphone. Allow both and the call starts.
- 04
Next, or stay
Stay as long as you like. Tap next for a new match, or follow the person to find them again later.
03not in the mood for camera?
Video, voice or text: you choose
Video is the default, but it is never compulsory. Voice works like an ordinary phone call with the camera dark, and text mutes the microphone too. Plenty of people start a night on text, move to voice once a chat feels good, and only then switch the camera on.
Talking to someone who writes in another language? Tap translate on their message in the chat and it appears in yours. Language barriers shrink fast that way.
Three ways to talk on a 1v1 match| Mode | Camera | Best for |
|---|
| Video | On | Seeing reactions and getting a real feel for someone |
| Voice | Off | Late nights, bad lighting, or a relaxed chat |
| Text | Off, mic off | Quiet places and easing in slowly |
04first-call tips
Small things that make a call go well
Face a light source rather than sitting with a window behind you. Hold the phone at eye level or prop it up. Start small: ask about their city, their local time, their plans for the night. Ask a question back. Most calls that fizzle out do so because nobody asked anything.
If a call feels off, leave. You never owe a stranger an explanation, and the next button is always there. For more on staying comfortable, see our safety tips.
Keep your full name, address, workplace and social accounts out of the first few calls, however nice the other person seems.
